Kachemak Voyager will operate between Homer and Seldovia; Kachemak Bay Ferry

Seldovia Passenger FerryLong in waiting, a new fast passenger ferry service is in the works and scheduled to begin service in Kachemak Bay come spring 2010. This will be a very important step for the towns of Homer and Seldovia and well timed with the announcement that Holland America will be adding Homer as a cruise port stop in 2010.

The new catamaran named the Kachemak Voyager is scheduled to make two daily runs between Homer and Seldovia during the busy tourism months between May and September. This will definitely be a big boost for the tourism market in both Homer and Seldovia and add a new and affordable way for Alaskan families to broaden their adventures in Homer Alaska area.

The 83-foot vessel is a double decked, 150-passenger, catamaran owned and operated by the Seldovia Village Tribe. The vessel was built by All American Marine in Bellingham Washington and was christened in July at the port of Seattle.
